What is K-POP?
K-pop is a musical genre based in South Korea.
K-pop means “Korean Pop”.
In 1940 Korean musicians started promoting their
cultural music. But in 1992 a new modern form of the genre was formed by the most
popular band of the time called, Seo Taiji and Boys, which bought with them different styles and genres of
music. As a result, they played a big role in representing South Korean culture
and modernizing South Korea's music.

K-pop industry started flourishing when different entertainment companies came into
being and they started forming different boy and girl groups. These groups need
to sign a contract with their company, train under their companies, and debut
under these companies. There are four big entertainment companies in K-pop
industry like; SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and Big
Hit Entertainment. All famous boy and girl groups mostly belong to these four
companies.
BoA is a solo artist, debuted under SM Entertainment. She is
extremely popular in South Korea for her amazing voice. She is known as the “Queen
of K-pop”. She is one of the most successful and influential singers in the
history of K-pop.

K-pop started spreading out of South Korea, when in 2003 TVXQ and BoA started a new generation of K-pop idols, which popularize K-pop worldwide TVXQ is a boy band formed by SM Entertainment in 2003, consisting of five members.
This group started promoting K-pop music in their neighboring
countries like Japan and China.

With the development of the Social Networking Services, K-dramas and K-pop music simultaneously spread through the countries of East Asia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, North Africa, Southern Africa, and the Middle East.
Psy is a South Korean solo idol and he debuted under YG Entertainment. Moreover, Psy played a vital role in modernizing the K-pop culture, when his most popular music video “Gangnam Style” became the first K-pop music video to reach more than a billion Youtube views in December 2012.

GOT7, NCT, Stray Kids, Ikon, Winner, and Monsta x are well recognized worldwide and

world. Some of them like; Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Itzy, (G)I-DLE, and G-Friend.
These groups are highly talented in their work and all of them are really liked
by their fans.
K-pop is not only advertising their national language “Korean / Hangul” but they are also promoting their fashion, cosmetics, and brands. K-pop groups are well managed, well mannered, and unique from each other and they are most probably differing by their “Fandom Names” and “Light Sticks”. Moreover, K-pop idols are also diverse in culture, and right now in K-pop industries include idols from China, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.
